Dogs are naturally inquisitive so why shouldn’t their owners be? This is probably the first time that you are having a professional photoshoot of your furbaby and we bet you have a ton of questions. So we have put together this guide to answer the most common questions we hear. That said, there is no such thing as a stupid question so if you can’t find the answer here then don’t be afraid to ask us.

MY DOG IS A WEE RASCAL, DOES THIS MATTER?
No, please don’t worry if your dog doesn’t have the best recall or attention span. My experience allows me to get the best picture from even some of the most reluctant dogs! If you think about it, I’m not asking for much: a collar and leash are all that is required in order to take great pictures with them because they need something tangible (like food) as an incentive before any posing can happen.
I HAVE MORE THAN ONE DOG , CAN THEY BE PHOTOGRAPHED TOGETHER?
I have photographed multiple dogs in a photoshoot before, but safety is paramount. Ideally you should bring at least one other person with you for the shoot.
WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS DREICH ON THE DAY?
We live in a part of the world where it is often cloudy and rainy. It’s important for me to know what I’ll face when shooting, so we always make sure to check the weather the day before to save wasted journeys. Sometimes though, surprises happen – like an unexpected shower or it’s just too hot on the day for your fur baby! In these cases we can reschedule to another date that suits.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY PHOTOSHOOT?
I understand that circumstances can change in these turbulent times. All I ask is that you give as much notice as possible if you cannot attend. We can then reschedule your shoot.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BRING TO THE PHOTOSHOOT?
Treats, toys, water, poo bags and a lead with collar if possible for your fur-baby. Sensible outdoor clothing and footwear for you if we are doing a location shoot. We have some handy tips in our Pawrait App
WHEN DO I GET TO SEE MY IMAGES?
We aim to have edited your images within 2 weeks after the session and will arrange a date for the viewing at the end of the photoshoot. These are usually done in person in our viewing room so that you can see your images on our big screen. Due to COVID restrictions we can also do your viewing virtually via Zoom, a web based video conferencing tool.
CHOOSING YOUR IMAGES
I hope that you will fall in love with all your images and we have packages to cater for that. The presentation system we use will allow you to quickly decide on your absolute favourite images.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DISPLAY MY IMAGES?
That is totally down to your preference and budget but we can help you decide.
We have both framed and contemporary wall art available as well as folio boxes, print package and digital files.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE PRODUCTS WE HAVE ORDERED?
All our products are handmade to order so usually products will be available for collection from the studio approximately 4-6 weeks after you have placed your order. However, if you have ordered digital files we can make them available sooner via file transfer or our Mobile App.
HOW CAN WE PAY FOR OUR PRODUCTS?
Your products are bespoke to you and as such we require payment in full before we place an order. We accept most bank and credit cards as well as bank transfer as methods of payment.
Additionally we have 2 ways in which you can spread payments.
- Payments spread over 3-12 months with order sent to lab when final payment made.
- Interest Free Credit with DivideBuy. We refer your purchase to them and acceptance, payment schedule and amounts are subject to status with 0%APR.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD A PHOTOSHOOT BE BOOKED WITH YOU?
To guarantee your choice of time we suggest booking at least a month in advance.
During the summer months and around school holidays you may want to book earlier so we can schedule your preferred date.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us as we may be able to squeeze short notice bookings in.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OUR PHOTOSHOOT?
I understand that people change their minds or circumstances change. However, I am running a business and incur costs for every session booked so unfortunately the session fee is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation within 48 hours of the photoshoot.
If we need to reschedule a session for any reason, a rescheduled session will first be offered. If this is not suitable then a full refund will be made.
